Head4Talent is delighted to be working with the Football Association of Wales (FAW) to recruit an exceptional and talented Executive/Senior Finance professional into the key role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
With significant longevity, (being the third oldest Associations in the world), FAW, the governing body of football in Wales, is now one of Europe’s most modern and leading football associations.
With a new strategy “Our Wales,” and an agenda brimming with opportunity and transformation, never has there been a more exciting time to be part of the FAW leadership team.
Reporting into the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the CFO will act as trusted partner and confidant to the CEO, high profile Board and shareholder group. Ensuring that the FAW’s finance and technology departments are high performing and best in class functions, the CFO will be responsible for delivering financial information that is accurate and reliable in a timely manner. Driving the FAW to be a forward looking and progressive Association, the CFO will ensure the effective management of financial risk and seek out transformation opportunities, overhauling and modernising systems, structures and working methods.
We are looking for a strategic thinker, with an abundance of commercial acumen, who will bring a dynamic, modern way of working and fresh approach to the role. You will lead on simplifying and digitalising processes, seeking to understand current issues, and developing plans to address them. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership, technical and relationship management, and people management skills.
This is a key role within FAW and will be expected to build relationships with a broad and diverse set of stakeholders. As such, an ability to build trust and credibility internal and external to the organisation will be key. Gravitas, charisma, and strong interpersonal and communication skills will be important criteria.
For further information please contact Head4Talent on 02922 400294 for a copy of the candidate pack and for a preliminary informal confidential discussion about the role.
Please note that any direct or speculative CVs will be forwarded to Head4Talent for incorporation in their process.
