Our Client:

Head4Talent are working exclusively for a leading manufacturing group based near Merthyr Tydfil. 

In recent years, they have undergone rapid expansion. 

 

The Role:

Reporting into the Finance Director in a newly created and pivotal position, you will be responsible for managing the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, whilst ensuring adherence to group & statutory compliance.
 
Duties include:

  • Team and individual management of staff 
  • Preparation & reporting of monthly cash forecasts
  • Preparation & reporting of monthly management accounts & forecasts, including variance analysis
  • Statutory reporting; local and Group
  • Assist in preparation of reporting & annual budgets.
  • Gross Margin analysis for business; investigation & feedback into relevant stakeholders on a timely basis
  • Develop, improve, and manage systems & processes that are best fit for the operation. 
  • Production, maintenance & control of product costs
  • Validation of standard material costs

Management:

  • Team and individual management of staff in accordance with policy and procedure
  • Develop, improve, and manage systems & processes that are best fit for the operation whilst ensuring alignment to Group policy and overall financial control.
  • Consultation with key stakeholders to improve & develop reports & models required to support the Business.
  • Develop & foster relationships with key stakeholders to ensure compliance to internal deadlines.

Transactional:

  • Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions.
  • Monthly balance sheet review: ensure all reconciling items are dealt with on a timely basis.
  • Monthly analysis of Debtors/Creditors
  • Monthly overhead analysis; review and feedback
  • Analysis of Capital spend monitoring costs & benefits.
  • Production, maintenance & control of product costs
  • Validation of standard material costs
  • Validation and review of L&O rate

Reporting:

  • Preparation & reporting of monthly cash forecasts
  • Preparation & reporting of monthly management accounts & forecasts, including variance analysis
  • Statutory reporting; local and Group
  • Assist in preparation of reporting & annual budgets.
  • Gross Margin analysis for business; investigation & feedback into relevant stakeholders on a timely basis
  • Calculate and issue financial & operating metrics.
  • Ensure compliance of all External reporting requirements, including PAYE, P11, PSA and National Statistics

Compliance:

  • Co-ordinate the provision of information to external and internal auditors as required.
  • Comply with the Group reporting requirements for tax filings.

About You:

  • Qualified in either ACA, CIMA, or ACCA.
  • People Management Experience.
  • Proven experience in manufacturing environment within both Financial & Management accounting.
  • IT/Computer literacy – MS Office Suite, to intermediate level for Word and PowerPoint, Advanced level for Excel and ERP systems.
  • Demonstrates accountability for own actions.
  • Able to communicate effectively with all functions/levels of the Business.
  • Exhibits discretion and confidentiality in all situations and in accordance with the nature and seniority of role.
  • Able to work off own initiative applying knowledge from internal/external resources.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Leadership skills.
  • High level of organisational skills.
  • Deadline aware with ability to ensure they are met.
  • Awareness of broader commercial issues for the Business.

  • Manufacturing Industry and background preferable.
