Finance Director

Our Client:

Our client is a service sector group with an innovative product offering. They are at a critical junction in the growth journey and need an agile, hands-on Finance Director who to shape with finance function to deliver first-class financial reporting and insightful MI to support the business through its next phase of growth.

The Role:

• Conduct a comprehensive audit and validation of current financial metrics, reporting structures, and historical data.
• Design and implement scalable internal financial controls, reporting frameworks, and compliance policies.
• Reconfigure the chart of accounts, budgeting frameworks, and long-term rolling cash flow models to support business strategy.
• Identify and close-off system redundancies and establish single-source-of-truth financial reporting.
• Action financial and management reporting packs and insightful commentary for executive leadership and the Board.
• Optimise management accounts, month-end processes, and KPI tracking dashboards to deliver clear commercial insight.
• Evaluate and optimise financial tech stacks, software integrations, and ensure that the most relevant technical solutions are in place to meet the growing needs of the business.
• Partner directly with the leadership team to guide commercial decisions, pricing models, and capital allocation.
• Manage day-to-day cash flow, working capital, tax planning, and external compliance functions.

About You:

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) who is comfortable diving deep into data clean-up while maintaining strategic focus.
• Proven track record of setting up finance functions, streamlining processes, or scaling SMEs through growth phases.
• Understand how to align financial controls with commercial realities without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
• Expert knowledge of Xero, financial modelling tools, and system integrations.
