Head of Finance

Our Client:

Head4Talent is currently working exclusively with a leading manufacturing business that are seeking to hire a Head of Finance to play a pivotal role in the next phase of growth. This is a hands-on, number one on-site finance role, working closely with the Managing Director as a true right-hand partner. You will take ownership of the finance function, support decision-making and help drive the business toward its ambitious growth plans. This is a role for someone who enjoys being close to the detail, thrives in a dynamic environment and wants to be part of a growing business.

With clear growth ambitions to reach £30m+ revenue over the coming years, the business is now looking to strengthen its finance function to support this journey.

The Role:

As Head of Finance, you will take full ownership of the finance function, leading a small team while working closely with the Directors on both day-to-day operations and strategic planning.

This is a broad, hands-on role requiring someone who is comfortable getting into the detail while also stepping back to provide insight and direction.

Key Duties: 

• Producing monthly management accounts and financial reporting.
• Leading budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.
• Managing and developing a small finance team.
• Taking ownership of transactional processes and ensuring strong financial control.
• Supporting business decision-making with clear financial insight.
• Driving improvements in processes, reporting and efficiency.
• Working closely with stakeholders across the business to understand performance.
• Supporting the continued growth and development of the wider group.
• Over time, the role is expected to broaden in scope across multiple areas of the business.

About You:

We’re looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) who enjoys being hands-on, but is also resilient, commercial and can operate effectively within a fast-moving environment.

• Previous experience managing or mentoring a small team.
• A proactive, “roll sleeves up” approach with strong attention to detail.
• The confidence to challenge, influence and stand your ground when needed.
• The ability to operate in a dynamic environment where priorities can shift quickly.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
