Finance Director, FinTech
Location : UK/Cardiff/Hybrid
Type : Permanent

An excellent opportunity has arisen within our Client’s business which is an exciting and dynamic Fin-Tech business based in South Wales. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the following:
- Lead the UK finance function with responsibility for key finance and strategy initiatives
- Influence the leadership team on business performance, resource allocation, risks & opportunities
- Develop and monitor success metrics, and communicate actionable insights to relevant stakeholders
- Develop financial reports demonstrating the performance of the business against KPIs. This includes but is not limited to monthly financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting inclusive of supporting commentary
- Lead strategic and financial planning processes such as business forecasting and goal setting
- Oversee the day-to-day accounting, invoicing, payroll, cash management and internal financial reporting
- Manage and develop a growing finance team
- Support the future strategy and contribute to the management and development of the business
- Support future fundraising rounds
- Provide board representation on financial and commercial matters
- Responsible for the company budget/forecast, financial modelling and KPI dashboard
- Support sales with pricing analysis
- Ensure the business has appropriate financial controls and systems in place to run efficiently and scale
- Ad-hoc tasks in relation to contracts, company policies, insurance etc.
Requirements:
- Experience of working in a senior finance role, ideally in a high growth technology business
- Qualified accountant
- Analytical problem solver with extensive experience building complex financial and/or operating models
- Ability to ask the right questions and to use sound business judgment when collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders
- Proven tendency for quickly identifying and methodically resolving potential roadblocks
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a willingness to proactively work with functions across the company
- Prior experience in the B2B tech sector / start-up environment desirable
- A strong personality, passion for the job and ‘can do’ attitude
- Possess good judgment and foresight and ensures accurate data analysis
- Flexible and goal focussed
- Be able to step away from the numbers and engage with senior management and non-financial disciplines
