An excellent opportunity has presented for an exceptional Finance leader to join the Jehu Group, as part of the Executive leadership team and the Board. This key appointment will play a significant role in the development of financial strategies to support the Group’s short, medium, and long- term plans, as it looks to consolidate its current position, following an impressive period of rapid growth. 

The business

The multi-“award winning” Jehu Group, is one of Wales’ largest independently owned construction businesses, with a reputation for delivering high-quality workmanship and excellence to its Clients over the last 85 years. With a strong leadership team, the Group is proud of its diverse and high-profile client base across multiple industry verticals, including a significant presence in the registered social landlord sector.

The Jehu Group, comprising 5 limited companies, including Waterstone Homes, and together with its recent investment in a new operation in the South West, has enjoyed significant growth in recent years in both turnover and client base. Its turnover is expected to surpass £80m in the financial year 2021 with a strong pipeline of future projects to look forward to.

Acting as the principal contractor on all projects, it has developed a highly effective internal quality management and continuous improvement system.

The opportunity

This represents an excellent opportunity for either a highly seasoned Finance Director, or a talented and capable, aspiring Finance leader, to join a well-established, ambitious, and successful Group.

The Group Finance Director will report into the Group Chief Executive Officer - (Development) and Board and assume responsibility for all aspects of Financial Management, Reporting, Governance and Control.  You will help develop and deliver the company’s business objectives and provide strong leadership and business performance management throughout.

With a key initial focus on developing the finance function, driving change and improvement, you will also support the Board in the medium and long-term planning and budget preparation for the Group. Additionally, you will seek to manage existing and develop new funding sources to facilitate the Group’s financial ongoing and future requirements.

This role has potential to develop into a broader remit in the medium-term.

The candidate

We are looking for an exceptional and inspirational Finance leader to fulfil this key role, as such you will be able to evidence a strong track record of success and delivery to date, with the capability to develop and inspire others.

With an accountancy qualification and current membership of one of the recognised accountancy professional Institutes, our preferred candidate will have relevant Finance leadership/FD experience within construction, engineering, manufacturing, or a related industry.

We are ideally looking for a candidate who is looking for a long- term career opportunity with potential to develop into a broader remit in the future.

You will possess high professional standards and strong technical skills as well as an abundance of commercial acumen. Furthermore, you will be able to demonstrate strong business partner skills and be capable of developing strong collaborative and trusted relationships both internally and externally.
